Hello everyone!
My X8 freezes in the middle of a recording, making it practically useless for what I do. It is connected via USB-C to a laptop that supplies power, in podcast mode and with mix-minus. Basically, I use it as a mixer for OBS and record the audio to later process the podcast version at the end of my shows.
But for the past few months, it has been constantly freezing, stopping the recording, and only starts working again after removing the batteries and restarting.
I’ve already changed USB ports, bought a new SD card... and it still happens.
I have the Bluetooth dongle installed, but it’s not in use.
Firmware 2.01

I don’t know what else to do; it’s impossible to trust this equipment in this state for my personal work, let alone for professional usage.
Is this happening to anyone else?

Hi npicado, I would suggest you remove the Bluetooth dongle. I had a similar issue and did some extensive testing. With the Bluetooth dongle my X8 would freeze within a few hours of recording, with the dongle removed it didn't freeze at all, even after 24 hours of continuous recording. This behaviour stardted after I upgraded the firmware to 2.01; downgrading unfortunately is not possible with the X8.

@paulp, I know it's an old comment by now, but I just got my unit replaced after the BT dongle sundenly stopped working...
The new unit arrived with the firmware 1.33 and now I'm wondering up to which version I should update ?

When you say it started when updating to 2.01, do you mean that 2.0 was safe ?
Thank you

@NoSpHieL, I never tried 2.0 but upgraded from 1.33 to 2.01 directly. So I am sorry I cannot tell you anything about 2.0 and I advise you to stay with 1.33 for now.

Yeah, stay away from the latest firmware and hope the old one is OK. It still happens to me once in a while, even without the BT dongle. But i'm using it as a audio mixer through USB, so maybe that's the problem.
Praying someone from Tascam sees this and they release a new firmware.
