TASCAM DP-32SD
Greetings,
Last christmas I bought my son a TASCAM DP-32SD. He absolutely loves the unit. He is a percussionist and uses it primarily to record youtube videos(jmulls248). So he is wondering if it is possible to expand the unit to use more than 8 microphones? I am out of my element, while I understand AV. I don't see how this could be possible... am I correct, or is there a way to accomplish it? My only thoughts were possibly buying another dp24 or 36 and using both, then overlaying the music recordings in the video editing sw he uses...

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Happy Holidays to all!

Jim

The simplest way would be a submixer - any small, cheap, clean-sounding version would do - and mix a group of four mics or more to a stereo pair into the recorder.

If he just wants to add more tracks, he can assign the inputs to higher tracks (9-13, etc.). The unit has up to 32.
