I'm brand new to recording and just bought a DP-008EX. Every time I record a vocal it comes out muddy and not clear at all. Then when my daughter records a vocal with the same settings (factory settings) it's clear as a bell. My voice is much lower but I can't believe that would make such a significant difference. Any idea what's going on or how I can make the vocal sharper would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with your setup but I'd try distancing yourself from the mic. Maybe try a different mic to find one that likes your voice. Just my two cents.

Thanks David! I switched from a dynamic mike to a condenser and it fixed the problem.

@THOMAS GRINHAM There's a reason why you see a large capsule condenser microphone in every music video.

Yeah I should have realized that. It's just my daughter's voice came out so clear I figured the mike was ok. I have a lot to learn about recording.

It never ends. Live and learn and don't beat yourself up over it. :)
