I have a tape locked inside the first well of this deck. When power goes on, the play button lights. Eject does nothing and I see no way to circumvent this.
I was able to take the top of the case off but see no way to get to the well itself. AFAIK there are no service manuals online. Only for the Mk II version. That doesn't help me anyway. I am not terribly hardware savvy due to chronic physical limitations.
