i got sold this tascam 424 mk1,. worked fine for a week
then this noise developed.
its always there and getting worse when pressing play/rec
im hoping somebody recognizes what that means, before i open the thing up (if at all)

ps:
additional info, this started happening after i used the tascam for 8 hours in 1 day (with breaks, but still too much probably)
so its not a noise that developed over ages or that the unit may have been dropped... could it be something dried up or ? im not a mechanic but dont some stuff needs to be oiled up in such machines?

definitely sounds like friction to me
also im using old type 2 cassettes
