Wished i did, the place looked like a clearance rack Macworld with clacky consoles, used car salesmen and no swag. And shitloads of VR and data warehousing stuff without any direct mention of audio.
Got home and it felt so good to push sound thru 20 year old faders and just bop my head.
Susan Rogers, PhD (mixing engineer, Prince) gave a great talk though. She was talking about bass response and out of the blue was like, “you know, you set the speakers up out of phase” to the techie and for a second i wasn’t sure he even knew what that was, what to do about it, or whether to just go misogynist and deny the silly woman. Then she kept on going, cancelled bass freqs be damned. Boss level.
