tascam fw 1884 blocked

hello. I have a 1884 fw interface to buy. I want to use in windows 8-64 bits. but the console has been blocked and can not work. this turn on only two leds. the stop and the computer ones. faders do not move or it restarts. and has not recognized me even Windows working as an external drive. I need to know if anyone can tell me how to make a factory restart from itself because you can not through of the pc. thanks for any help.

FW-1884 RESET

1. With the 1884's power OFF
2. Hold down the following buttons:
PAN, FLIP, AUX3, AUX4 and simultaneously power on FW1884.

This is "free" advice, worth just what you pay for it.
Good luck with the re-set and running the FW in Win 8.
