Tascam Model 24
I am recording guitar using a standard guitar cable (TS) and running it directly into the (line input jack balanced) jacks of the model 24. The telecaster seemed to have a grounding problem the other guitars didn't have. In looking into this further I now know that there is a INST switch on the first two channels that solved the issue. I've been recording all along without pressing the switch and using most of the other channels where there are no switches to record my guitar.

My question is have or will I hurt the mixer by doing this or are these built for this is need be? It sounds fine and I have bought an impedence adapter for doing this in the future. Any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks

No, you have not hurt the mixer by plugging your guitar into it. The only thing you have been doing is not matching the input for guitar by using the INST mode. That only affects the audio.
