Using Dynamics in a "non-destructive" way (Re-Routing)

Hey guys,

I am new to this forum and also new to the DP-24SD.

When I was playing around with it yesterday, I noticed that the "dynamics" effect section can only be applied to the audio inputs and not to already recorded tracks. Are there any tricks to change this? I would love to record the original tracks without, but monitor them in real time with FX.

I thought this might be possible by routing internal tracks to virtual inputs or so? Maybe this is complete bananas, but I would love to get a confirmation for that by an experienced user

You can assign the original track to an effects send and simply patch the effects out to another input.

There is a slight delay...about 5 msec I think I calculated...enough to notice a bit of phasing if you play both original track and new input simultaneously, but not enough to put the new input out of sync with the overall song.

Going on memory....haven't done it in awhile....
