Using the instrument inputs on iPad for 16x08

I'm just got a 16x08 to do multi-tracking on both windows and iPad. Works fine. I also want to be able to plug a guitar into 9 or 10 and use Stompbox or amplitube, or one of he other guitar amp apps. They don't seem to be able to hear the guitar. How can I route the signal from input 9 to whatever stompbox is listening to; probably 1 I suppose.
