V-track quirks?

Thanks for confirming Mark.
Bit of a long post, but here's a summary of the steps ready for a bug report, if anyone else wants to try it. I'm using a dp-32sd with 1.08 firmware, and I think Mark used a dp-24.

The two steps marked * are the errors. They only occur if the autopunch+repeat is started when the current vtrack is anything other than 1. If you do try it, make sure your card is backed up first (I can't accept any responsibility for data loss). I'd also recommend deleting the song afterwards to prevent it being used in future.

Nothing needs to be plugged in to the machine.
  1. Create a new song (after loading a reset template or factory init to guarantee a clean slate).
  2. Press F1 on home screen to display the timeline.
Make a dummy recording onto track 1, vtrack 1:-
  1. Press track 1 Rec button; it should flash.
  2. Press Record and wait for it to record approx 10 secs; coloured bar should appear on timeline.
  3. Press Stop, then Rewind. Leave track 1 armed.
Make a similar recording onto track 1, vtrack 2:-
  1. Press VirtualTrack button to display the Vtrack screen.
  2. Press down-cursor to highlight vtrack 2 (unused), then press F4 (load).
  3. Press VirtualTrack button to exit screen.
  4. Press Record and wait for it to record approx 10 secs; coloured bar should appear on timeline.
  5. Press Stop, then Rewind. Leave track 1 armed.
Set up the auto-punch+repeat:-
  1. Use jog wheel to position transport to approx 3secs.
  2. Press MarkSet and IN to set the IN point here.
  3. Use jog wheel to position transport to approx 8secs.
  4. Press MarkSet and OUT to set the OUT point here.
  5. Confirm IN and OUT are both set on home display.
  6. Press AutoPunch button to display the Autopunch settings.
  7. Set mode to IN-OUT and pre/post roll to 1 sec, then press F4 to exit; Autopunch light should be lit.
  8. Press Repeat button; should light up.
Start the auto-punch+repeat:-
  1. Press Record.
  2. Wait for the 8 passes to finish.
  3. *After the 8th pass, an error pops up: "Writing failed".
  4. Press F1 to acknowledge.
  5. If the Vtracks screen is displayed, press the VirtualTrack button to exit.
  6. Press AutoPunch button to turn it off.
The Timeline display should still show the coloured bar from the original recording.
This is as expected, but there is an anomaly if you try to delete that track, e.g.
  1. Press TrackEdit button.
  2. Scroll down to Clean Out and press F4.
  3. Confirm track 1 is shown, then press F2(yes).
  4. *The coloured bar outside the IN & OUT points is gone, but the bar inside remains.
  5. Press the Stop button. The display shows the spinning spools briefly, and if you now repeat the Clean Out operation, the bar disappears.
