246 tapes ?

I know that you should use High Bias 70 type II, and they should not be longer than 90 minutes ?

I will get my Tascam246 this week, and I want to be sure that I'll get the right tapes.

Is there any website selling new cassettes ? I checked Ebay but I only find more than 90min tapes.

I would stick with Maxell XL II type C-60 or C-90 and that is it. When you find them buy a 10 pack.
The Korean BASF garbage that they could not sell in years past might be newly shelled but it is still the garbage that did not sell in the 80 and 90's.

Yes, That should work. 70uS means Chrome equalization while Normal tape is 120uS.

The XL II S tape have been a crap shoot since they came out and there is no sign consistently that they are any better and often times worse for more money- I don't buy an XL II S. XL IS was always a great tape.
