DP-32 - mono or stereo tracks - do I lose track count?

Hello.... have a DP-32 (not the SD version).

Confused about track assignment. If I went all mono tracks across the board - so I really then only have access to 20 tracks?

To ask that differently...... if I set 9/10 to Mono... what happens to track 10? I can't use it now?
