help with iF-AN/DM analog card setup

I am in need of basic setup help with the IF AN/DM card for use with sonar x1 external insert plugin. I also already have the firewire card already installed in my DM4800 and it is working properly , also the analog card is installed in slot 2 and is recognized by the Dm4800.

Basic idea on using DM's I/O for DAW's extrenal F/X (external insert plugins) is to create INPUT BYPASS ROUTING from your DAW connetcion to DM's output and then INPUT BYPASS ROUTING from DM's input to your DAW connection.

In your case (X here represents an unused channel of your IF-W/DM):
SLOT1 chX -> INPUT BYPASS -> SLOT2 ch1
SLOT1 chX+1 -> INPUT BYPASS -> SLOT2 ch2
etc
and
SLOT2 ch1 -> INPUT BYPASS -> SLOT1 chX
SLOT2 ch2 -> INPUT BYPASS -> SLOT1 chX+1
etc

Now you can define input/outputX, X+1, etc as external F/X in your DAW.
