New DR05X echoes on playback

Brand new DR05X has a slight echo on playback anyone have that problem?

Yup. Same thing here with a brand new device purchased from Sam Ash. Is there a setting I need to know something about?

Hey I am not any level of expert in this stuff but I solved my echo problem by increasing MP3 format to 320k. I use that and 44.1k sampling. It was also creating a swirling noise with the echo. Weird but now fixed.

Same issue with the same model. Brand new. I've tried all the settings. Will have to send back and get a new recorder. Not a Tascam.

I was noticing the same issue on my DR-07X. It turns out the problem was that the playback speed was set to 0.9x. (Any speed slower than 1.0x makes playback sound echoey.) I changed the speed back to 1.0x, and playback is no longer echoey. Press the PB Cont button and then + or - to change playback speed.
