Hi folks,

just a few questions:
I'm looking for a way to get 8 channels of analog input for my DM 3200, as well as 8 channels of analog output, out of the PC.

So, the signals for input will go:
RME --> TDIF (or ADAT) --> DM3200 --> into the PC

and for output:
PC --> DM3200 --> TDIF (or ADAT) --> physical outputs RME

Will this work? Do I need wordclock (on behalf of the DM?)?

If you can give me specific details about if this is a thing, and what I'll have to set up exactly (and where), I'll have a drink or two on you :)

cheers

That should totally work - but it also looks like major overkill (192k sample rate). I actually have a very similar setup for jobs that need more than 20 analog inputs at once. I use the Presonus Digimax 48k, and yes, also wordclock. Wordclock is necessary if you have multiple devices doing AD-conversion simultaneously. And since ADAT and TDIF normally are 44.1 or 48 kHz (you lose half the channel number if it works to go to 88.2 or 96) I limit these projects to these sample rates..

Cheers!
