Tascam DP24-SD
I export tracks from Cubase 14 in order to import them on the Tascam but they don't show up in Audio Depot. I'm pretty sure I'm not saving or sending them to the correct location. On the computer I send the tracks to the MUSIC folder in (D) DP-24SD. I've also tried sending to (D) AudioDepot and the files are showing both places. I can open and play them from there on the PC so I believe export as such is OK. No error messages from the Tascam.
What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

My guess is bit depth/sample rate mismatch.

Plus you won't see them on the DP with it connected by USB. You have to disconnect and then try to import from the Audio Depot (not the Music folder).

Bit depth/sample rate are the same on both devices.

On the PC things look OK I think. Nothing in Audio Depot on the Tascam after disconnection. No import option shown only export

If memory serves, the file extension may have to be CAPS, i.e. *.WAV.

Your photo shows that your file explorer is not showing file extensions. So you can't see if the extension is all CAPS or not.

The AudioDepot screen shows the contents of the AudioDepot folder. Files are only listed if they are deemed valid wave files for importing by the machine. If no files meet this criteria, or if the folder is empty, it displays 'file not found'. Btw upper or lower case for the name and extension is acceptable.
So, as mj & Mark said, either the format is not one of the 4 acceptable types, or the file contains additional info which is not recognised by the machine. You say the format is correct, so the problem must be the latter.
DAW's are known to store extra info in their working wave files so you are likely to get problems if you simple 'copy' those wave files into AudioDepot. You need to use the correct 'export' function on the DAW, usually called export or save-as, and you will typically get a choice of format. I've seen this problem before with Audacity and Samplitude, but never tried Cubase so can't say where the option is.
If you list the exact steps you took to get the file out of Cubase, we may be able to advise further.

Thank you for the correction Phil.

I'm embarrassed to admit it but the issue was in fact bit depth as suggested. My Cubase was set up to the same sample rate and bit depth as the Tascam but I discovered that when exporting tracks I still had to actively change bit depth because the default setting is different. Thanks for the tips and for helping me to think along the correct lines.

Yeap, those global default settings will get you every time.

Thank you for the update as this does help people who are looking for solutions. No need to feel embarrassed about it.
