You'll have to use the editing tools creatively, but yes, it's possible. RTM and/or sticky-posts on the subject of editing (basically, you'll be putting markers around the section you want to keep; then MOVING it to the location you wanted it to begin, over-writing the location of the unwanted note).
On most PortaStudio's, there's a "cut" function in the [EDIT] menu...but it won't function on very short selections (like one note long). So you'll have to get creative.
You can stop by my place with your '008 and I'll do it for you...but I've got Alan Parsons over for nachos and chocolate milk, while we discuss my studio routing design, so I'm pretty busy today...
EDIT:
Re-reading your post, it wasn't exactly clear what you wanted to do...I sensed it's possible that you DON'T want to
remove a section of what you recorded - just SILENCE it.
This also is limited by the editing tools (you can't select such a short segment for editing, including the [SILENCE] command)...
This ALSO is solvable by creative use of the editing tools, and though the 'workaround' would be a bit complicated, it's ABSOLUTELY possible - if you're willing to put in the effort to learn how to imaginatively use the editing tools.
It
might just be easier to track your part again (either back up your original track first - OR use another track, and move that section from the track you re-record to the original).
Like I said - very do-able...but I'mma busy today. Parsons gets beach-y if you don't pay attention.
