Tascam Model 2400
Hi, I have bought a Samsung PROplus 256GB card for use with the newly purchased Model 2400, which is on Tascam's approved list (unless I am missing some versioning that I am not aware of - A2, v30, 4k). The unit says "Invalid card Change card" but I am also aware that the firmware needs updating (from 1.00 to 1.01), which could affect reading of the sd card. However, to update the firmware, I need to insert an sd card. I don't want to buy another card if not necessary (and potentially a wrong one again???). How best can I resolve this loop please? How do I update the firmware without being able to read the sd card?

Welcome to the community, @Major777.

I think this catch 22 issue came up once before, about a year ago. A "firmware" search on this subforum should find the thread.

EDIT
@Major777 I see you logged in again a few hours after I responded to you. Did you find the thread, and did it help solve the problem?

If not:
The approved list is dated 10/01/25 and shows both 128gb and 256gb for the Samsung Proplus. The Model 2400 was released in July 2024. It could be that the initial firmware version only supported 128gb.

Try a new search on "invalid card".

Thank you for your assistance. Yes, I have found that thread and am purchasing a 32gb card (as per the solution on the other thread for the Model 12 similar issue) to see if that gets around the firmware update requirement. I'll confirm whether that works and, if so, whether the 256gb card subsequently works. Hopefully the 32gb is not too low!
