Will There Be Another Tascam Digital Portastudio?

I'm convinced for a lot of empirical reasons that hardware oriented MTR mixers, with audio editing are in the crystal ball future , because of the trend in MTR mixers (from many manufacturers) that have been released in the last few years. The focus on standalone MPC's, Maschine Plus, SP404's, the latest Zoom releases, the diminishing, dwindling popularity of Protools, Cubase, Studio One, etc, and the falling sales of desktop computers and laptops.

The hey day of the DAW has been over for about 5 years now. Even those that still subscribe (excuse the pun) to the DAW idea, are desperately trying to find the ultimate hardware controller for it so that they can be as far removed from the point-and-click paradigm as possible. The standalone audio interface is receiving ferocious pressure from the MTR mixers that have built in audio interface. The VST market is over saturated and has become a bit ho-hum. Its all tumbling down.

Yea, I see a bright future for the Tascam Portastudio I really do.

Do the DP-32 and similar products are discontinued? I do not find it new anymore.

I am only seeing the DP-24SD at the major retailers. The Tascam Store on Amazon has no 32SD in stock. I see Alto Music does have a 32SD in stock.

Do a used Tascam 2488 is worth instead of a DP24? I have found one used for a good price.

My DP-32 with MIDI is becoming more valuable each day.
