Sorry; would love to offer suggestions, but I don’t own/use an SX-1. And the inquiry itself is pretty indeterminate.

I can offer this help though…😁

the tascam sx-1 circa 2007 is a complex digital audio workstation and issues with faders #14 #15 and #16 during startup diagnostics suggest a problem likely related to the fader board or its connection since you’ve already checked the hdd and reseated all boards here’s things to try to address the issue including locating the fader board troubleshooting and repair options if you engage in these activites you do so at your own risk and you agree to assume all financial economic emotional and physical liability in doing so 1 locating the fader board on the tascam sx-1 the fader board is part of the control surface and houses the motorized faders and their associated electronics to locate it access the control surface the fader board is typically located beneath the top panel where the faders are mounted you’ll need to open the sx-1’s control surface to access it steps to access power off the sx-1 and unplug it to avoid electrical hazards remove the top panel by unscrewing the screws on the sides and rear of the control surface consult the tascam sx-1 service manual if available for exact screw locations to avoid damaging the unit once the panel is removed you’ll see the faders mounted on a circuit board this is the fader board which connects to the main system via ribbon cables or connectors visual check look for the faders numbered 14 15 and 16 usually labeled on the board or faders themselves the board will have multiple faders, potentiometers and solder joints 2 troubleshooting the fader issue since diagnostics flag faders #14 #15 and #16 the issue could stem from the faders themselves, the fader board’s electronics, or connectivity here’s what to try inspect connections check the ribbon cables or connectors linking the fader board to the main board ensure they’re securely seated and free of corrosion or damage look for loose or broken solder joints on the fader board especially around faders #14 #15 #16 test the faders use a multimeter to test the resistance of the faders potentiometers each fader should show smooth consistent changes in resistance when moved erratic or no change suggests a faulty fader if you have access to the service manual check the expected voltage or signal output from these faders during diagnostics clean the faders dirty or worn faders can cause erratic behavior use a contact cleaner like deoxit faderlube f5 to clean the faders spray into the fader slot and move the fader up and down multiple times note be cautious with cleaners to avoid damaging nearby components swap faders for testing ifpossible swap one of the problematic faders #14 #15 or #16 with a working one eg#14 on the board this requires desoldering and resoldering so only attempt if you’re comfortable with electronics repair if the issue follows the fader the fader itself is faulty if the issue stays with the slot the problem lies on the fader board eg a bad circuit or component check power supply to the fader board motorized faders require stable voltage use a multimeter to verify the fader board is receiving proper power refer to the service manual for voltage specs a failing power supply or regulator could cause multiple faders to malfunction 3 repairing or replacing the fader board if the fader board is faulty you have a few options diy repair replace Individual faders if specific faders are faulty they can be replaced the sx-1 uses the same motorized faders as the tascam dm-24 these are typically 10kΩ linear potentiometers with a motor sourcing exact replacements can be tricky but check with full compass systems for tascam parts electronics suppliers like mouser digikey or ebay for compatible motorized faders ensure specs match replacing a fader involves desoldering the old one and soldering a new one as shown in a tascam dm-24 repair video use a solder sucker or wicking braid for clean removal repair board components if the issue is a bad capacitor resistor or ic on the fader board a skilled electronics technician can diagnose and replace these this requires schematics available in the service manual and advanced soldering skills professional repair if diy is beyond your skill level send the fader board or the entire unit to a professional look for authorized tascam service centers check tascam us website under “service center” or “contact support” for authorized repair shops you can also contact tascam’s main service center via their contact form independent audio repair shops search for “tascam service [your city]” or check forums like gearspace gearspace.com for recommendations for example summertone specialized repair techs tascamninja lists repair techs globally including in the us and europe specializing in tascam equipment note be cautious as some “certified” shops may lack proper testing equipment ask if they have experience with sx-1 fader boards and a sound system to test repairs sourcing a replacement fader board: finding a new or used sx-1 fader board is challenging due to the unit’s age check homerecording.com users occasionally sell tascam parts, including boards for older units post a wanted ad or contact sellers be wary of “as-is” sales as functionality isn’t guaranteed tascam support contact tascam directly to inquire about spare parts though availability for discontinued models like the sx-1 is limited if a replacement board is found installation involves swapping the old board reconnecting cables and running diagnostics to ensure proper function 4 other considerations diagnostics error details if the scx-1 provides specific error codes for faders #14–#16 note them and cross-reference with the service manual or tascam support this could point to a software issue or a specific component failure firmware/software check ensure the sx-1’s firmware is up to date as older versions might cause fader calibration issues check tascam's website for firmware updates reset the fader calibration via the sx-1’s diagnostics menu refer to the user manual for steps gounding Issues intermittent fader issues can sometimes stem from grounding problems ensure all grounding points on the fader board and chassis are secure backup your data since you’ve confirmed the hdd is okay back up any critical projects before further troubleshooting as opening the unit or running repairs risks data loss

goodluck i'm too old to remember how to punctuate hope you can make sense of what i wrote.
