My Model 12 is on the way.
I've been looking at videos, along with info and questions on this forum and reading the manual.
I plan to do live band recordings when we play shows and then overdub, edit, and mix, those tracks in Nuendo by removing the SD card and loading it into my DAW with the Model 12 essentially out of the circuit.
Model 12 then only used as a MTR.
For live recording I'd like to know if this 9 track configuration if possible:
Model 12 Inputs:
1 Vox 1 -- mic
2 ElctGtr 1 -- mic
3 Vox 2 -- mic
4 ElctGtr 2 -- mic
5 Kck -- mic
6 Snr -- mic
7 Ohd - mic
9/10 ---
9 Bass: Direct TRS or TS;
10 Keys Mono Direct: TRS or TS
Bass & Keys are amped on stage and both have configurable balanced mic/line outputs --
most likely I'd set them to line, and the cableing from those amps to 9/10 would be XLR ---> TRS
For Input 9/10, there would not be TRS on one input, and TS on the other input; they be the same type TRS/TRS or TS/TS
Also:
Most likely I'll balance the volumes going to 9/10 by using a small stereo mixer for the Keys and Bass;
I'd exit the mixer as two separate L/R outputs and hit 9/10.
Would the above 9 input configuration give me those nine tracks? Mics on 1 thru 7 and lines into 9/10.
I'm also a little cornfused about recording a simultaneous live (post fader) FOH mix on 11/12 --
Ideally, I'd like the ability to pull the SD card at the end of the night, load a stereo FOH mix into my little traveling computer and listen to it and then at a later date load all the MTR tracks into my DAW.
it looks like that is not exactly a simple "press one button" operation, unless I'm missing something --- which I probably am.
Hopefully once i start playing with the acrual machine, I'll have a better grasp of all this.
Thanks for any help or insight

Is there an easy way of recording just the stereo main mix on the Model 12, or individual sources without always creating a 'song' of 12 tracks? I haven't found a way of ending up with a simple recording on the SD card which I can load into my DAW (Adobe Audition, in case anyone asks) and start editing.
I'm not a musician, I'm a radio producer and interviewer. I don't want to load 12 tracks into my DAW with every recording I make.
Is it by design that the Model 12 will create 12 tracks, including blank ones, even if you do not arm the channels for recording?
For example, I wanted to...
